Memo to the Public

Subject: Update on Main Street 2026 Construction Schedule

Dear Residents,

We are providing an update on the upcoming construction activities scheduled for Main Street and surrounding areas:

- Luizzi Retaining Wall Work: Beginning the week of March 16th, 2026, Luizzi will start work on the retaining wall in the municipal parking lot. Once the wall work is completed, they will begin construction on Main Street, approximately during the week of March 23rd, 2026, from Thompson Street to Water Street. All activities are subject to weather conditions.

- Central Hudson Gas Line Installation: Starting the week of March 23rd, 2026, Central Hudson will initiate the installation of a gas line for the Greene County Justice Center on Main Street. Work will commence near Clark Street and extend up to Thompson Street, continuing down Lower Thompson Street to Water Street. This project is expected to take approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

- Department of Public Works (DPW) Water Line Installation: Also commencing the week of March 23rd, 2026, DPW will begin installing main water lines starting at the intersection of Union Street and Main Street, working towards Water Street. This phase is projected to last about 2 to 4 weeks. Following this, DPW will work down Brandow's Alley to install the main line, which will take an additional 2 to 4 weeks. After all water lines are tied in, sidewalk replacement will begin on Main Street, along with new curb cuts. The full list of sidewalks being replaced is also available on our main page of the village website.

- Final Steps: Once all sidewalks are complete, new streetlights and updated parking meters that accept cards will be installed, followed by the paving of the area.

I will do my best to keep everyone updated as we progress through this project. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these essential improvements.

Best regards,

Craig Rowell
