VILLAGE OF CATSKILL

NOTICE OF ACTION SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a meeting of the Village Board of Trustees on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Catskill, New York duly adopted Resolution No. 2 of 2025, entitled “BOND RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF CATSKILL, NEW YORK (THE “VILLAGE”), DATED JANUARY 22, 2025, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW 2025 KME K180 SIDE MOUNT PUMPER FIRE TRUCK FOR THE VILLAGE OF CATSKILL FIRE DEPARTMENT; ESTIMATING THE AGGREGATE COST THEREOF TO BE $830,000.00; APPROPRIATING UP TO $830,000.00 THEREFOR AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF INDEBTEDNESS IN THE AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $830,000.00 TO FINANCE SAID COST.” Such bond resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Village Law Article 9. Said resolution authorizes the purchase of a new 2025 KME K180 Side Mount Pumper Fire Truck, which has a period of probable usefulness of twenty (20) years. Said resolution shall take effect thirty (30) days after adoption, unless there shall be filed with the Village Clerk a petition signed and acknowledged by no less than 20% of the electors of the Village, as shown on the register of electors for the previous general village election qualified to vote upon a proposition to raise and expend money protesting against the resolution and requesting that the matter be submitted to the qualified electors of the Village at a referendum in the manner provided by the Village Law. A copy of the resolution is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the Village Clerk, located at the Village Hall, 422 Main Street, Catskill, New York.

Now that election season is over and winter is upon us the Village of Catskill is asking all residents to please remove any non-permitted temporary signs from sidewalks and streetscapes. The Village will be going around and removing any that are still up and in violation of our local laws starting November 20th. If you have any questions, please contact our code office at 518-943-6564.  


 Restore NY is currently accepting applications for this round. Please visit the NY state website esd.ny.gov for more information if you own an abandoned building in the village of Catskill. 


The Village of Catskill is reviewing all of our short-term rental permits currently filed with our code enforcement office. If you are past due on a renewal or operating without a permit you are subject to penalties and could lose the privileges to operate your short-term rental in the Village of Catskill. To obtain a permit or renew an existing one or for any additional questions please contact our code enforcement office at 518-943-6564 located on third floor of the Village building Monday through Friday 8am-2pm.

PARKING METERS ARE EXEMPT SUNDAYS AND LEGAL HOLIDAYS. 

PARKING TICKETS CAN BE PAID AT THE VILLAGE CLERK'S OFFICE AT 422 MAIN ST, CATSKILL, NY 

OR PLACED IN THE DROP BOX IN THE POLICE STATION.
