The Village of Catskill is pleased to announce that we are applying for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY FORWARD grants to support economic development and revitalization efforts in our community. We are calling for project proposals from local organizations and individuals who have innovative ideas to enhance our downtown area.

To be considered for funding, projects must meet certain criteria, including a minimum project cost of $100,000 and a requirement for a 25 percent investment of the total project cost from private sectors and a minimal to no investment from public/nonprofits depending on the project.  Interested parties are encouraged to fill out the project proposal form available by clicking this link DRI PROJECT PROPOSAL FORM. Please email your submission for review to our Village Clerk asignoretti@villageofcatskillny.gov

Proposals should demonstrate alignment with the goals and priorities of the DRI and NY FORWARD grants, such as promoting job creation, improving infrastructure, and enhancing community spaces.

We invite all stakeholders in the Village of Catskill to participate in this exciting opportunity to shape the future of our community. Together, we can create a more vibrant and prosperous downtown area for all residents and visitors. Thank you for your interest and participation.

If you have any questions, please email Natasha Law Village of Catskill Vice President who is spearheading this grant application at nlaw@villageofcatskillny.gov

The Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) project has commenced work in the Town of Catskill. The project, a 339 mile long, solid state clean energy transmission line will transport renewable hydropower from Canada to New York State and will be installed primarily in waterways and along railroad and road rights of ways.  In some areas, the project will pass along private parcels and the project team is working with those property owners on easements to use the private parcels. If you have not been contacted by CHPE, the project will have no direct impact on your property, if at all.

The project construction activities that will begin in our area will include establishing soil erosion and sediment controls, building access roads, cutting trees and bushes, and clearing the area for future trenching work and or for preparing horizontal directional drilling (HDD) work areas.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please reach out to the CHPE hotline at (800) 991-CHPE (2473) | publicoutreach@chpexpress.com. For more information about the project itself, please visit the CHPE website at https://chpexpress.com/
